EDIT: Finally, installing 390xx-dkms, disabling Wayland and switching to lightdm helped. I've tried nvidia, nvidia-lts, nvidia-390-xx. Boot stuck on 'Reached target Graphical Interface.' Hello, today I've updated all my packages and I cannot boot to the system now. I could also boot those with open source drivers on a live USB. I already successfuly installed arch, manjaro, archlabs, endeavourOS and some others with no issues. I have windows on a different SSD, the SSD I am trying to install on is empty. My installation is just the Intel ucode and Nvidia drivers and xcfe and sddm. flipper T - reinstalling nvidia (without uninstalling or changing the driver) has entirely solved the problem, thanks. I also cannot boot the live usb with the option open source drivers, only with the Nvidia drivers. Scimmia, I totally forgot that my setup is not the only one: what should happen is kdm should automatically log me in and then lock the screen. After removing quiet from the parameters I can also see that it gets stuck after " reached target graphical interface". I can access tty if I add the nomodeset parameters. Nothing is on the screen and tty is inaccessible. I installed ventoy on a pen drive and threw the iso into the folder.ĭid a couple of google searches and it seems that the problem is the nvidia drivers (i have a nvidia gtx 1050 ti), some people seems to be able to fix it with just the kernel 5.12 but doesn’t that iso already have it? again im a noob haha, other people fixed it by alt+F2(tty i think it’s called) and some commands but idk why but i cannot log in, i can type the username but when i need to type the password i cannot type it cause seems like the thing does not register any typing i’m doing.ĬPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 1.Whenever I try to install (used 3 different isos until now) i get stuck on a completely black screen on the first boot after the line about starting linux. a Linux distribution like Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch Linux / Manjaro. Whenever i try to boot it with either free drivers or proprietary drivers i always get stuck on “ reached target graphical interface” and it wont continue. I did it by booting Ubuntu into text only mode (no graphics) but I cannot figure. I’m new to linux and i been trying to install manjaro kde plasma (manjaro-kde-21.1.6-211017-linux513) to get started for a while but i cannot seem to be able to.
